Tony DeSorbo (Class of 1986; Tennis, Basketball)--Mr. DeSorbo was a talented athlete at Haverling, shining in both Tennis and Basketball. As the captain of the tennis team, he led them to a Section V Class B Title in 1985 at first singles and also secured the Sectionals doubles crown that year. In 1986 he also won the Section V Class B Singles Title. His dedication to his studies earned him a spot in the National Honor Society. 

Post high school at St. John Fisher, he continued his success as a member of the tennis team, leading them to four consecutive winning seasons as team captain. Graduating with honors, Mr. DeSorbo obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Dana Smith  (Class of 1994; Soccer, Swimming, Baseball)

During his time in high school, Mr. Smith excelled in the sport of swimming. Throughout his senior year, he broke 20 records and was awarded as the Southern Tier Swim League's outstanding male swimmer in 1992, 1993, and 1994, as well as the Rotary Outstanding Swimmer for the same years. In the 1994 season, Mr. Smith clinched the Section V Class C Swimming titles in the 200 Freestyle and the 100 Backstroke. He was further recognized as the Section V Class C Outstanding Swimmer in 1994. Mr. Smith currently holds two long-standing Haverling pool records in the 200 Freestyle and the 200 Medley Relay. Notably, he played a pivotal role in leading the swim team to victory in the Section V Class C team championship in 1994.

In addition to his swimming achievements, Mr. Smith also demonstrated exceptional talent in baseball. He was honored as the Team MVP, Steuben County League MVP, and a Steuben County Baseball All-Star during his senior year at Haverling. A natural leader, Mr. Smith's skills were not limited to the water and baseball diamond as he was also a valuable member of the highly successful soccer team.

Inductees will be honored at halftime of the homecoming football game scheduled for Oct. 11th, 2024. Inductees will also be recognized at the Haverling Alumni Banquet on Friday, June 14th, at 5:30 pm at the Bath American Legion.

Plaques for each honoree will be displayed permanently in the main hallway outside the entrance to the Haverling Athletic Complex.
